Men's summer shoes: not wearing socks with shoes?

SS08 Menswear collections, the trend is not wearing socks with shoes. Me it seems that not wearing socks is not particularly comfortable, hygienic and pleasant (and I think most will agree). So I'm looking for a solution you get no sock appearance without the drawbacks. NB those socks coach not work because they are cut too high and show on the edge of the shoe.

Women have things called footsies. They are made of nylon material (like tights and socks) but they cover only part of the foot inside your shoe to the bare foot but seems not. You could try to buy these, nobody would know you're wearing. Comfort over fashion any day!
